Speaking Engagements
I am an experienced educator and therapist committed to helping individuals overcome trauma, gain or regain control of their lives, and find meaning, purpose, and healing. With a background in education and therapy, I bring compassion and years of education and experience to my speaking engagements. I'm also well versed on how to teach subjects to many different audiences.
My journey began at Boston University's School of Education in 1987, where I discovered my passion for teaching and earned my Bachelor of Science degree and teaching credentials. I furthered my education at USC's Rossier School of Education, where I obtained a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) in 1989.
Throughout my career, I have held various roles and worked with diverse populations. From 1989 to 1993, I served as a Special Education Teacher and Family Therapy Intern at Vista Del Mar, Los Angeles, focusing on supporting individuals with special needs and those in challenging relationships. In 1991, I became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My professional journey then took me to Manhattan and back to Los Angeles, where I worked with former cult members at the Cult Clinic, providing counseling and support groups while raising awareness about cults and manipulative relationships. I also dedicated my time to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Since 2001, I have run a successful private practice in Los Angeles, offering support to individuals recovering from trauma, navigating difficult relationships, and seeking empowerment after confidence has been stripped away. My support groups provide a safe space for healing, education, and connection. |
